The Department of Geography in this college was introduced in 1996. There are Honours and General courses in the department. At present 40 students can be admitted in Honours course and maximum 60 students can be admitted to general course. The department has sufficient laboratory infrastructures and books in the seminar library. In the beginning, the department was run by many part-time teachers and young scholars. But nobody remains for a long period. Dr. Bipul Chandra Sarkar joined the Department on 28.07.2006. Now there are two full time permanent teachers and four SACT-1 teachers in the department.
